"Beer with Mentzen." The Campaign in Anecdotes

The latest "Beer with Mentzen" in Szczecin, to which the chairman of New Hope invited residents on Friday, September 19, devoted almost entirely to the election campaign.

Sławomir Mentzen, leader of the Confederation and chairman of the New Hope party, although he did not make it to the second round, played – as is well known – a significant role in the presidential election. He mobilized a significant portion of the electorate, primarily young people, who voted for Karol Nawrocki in the second round.

The meeting was lighthearted and informative. S. Mentzen spoke about the difficult beginnings of the campaign, when only "200 or 300 people would come to rallies," and about the "winter" campaign, in the snow and frost, when, to everyone's surprise, "people came to political rallies."

He talked about the illnesses he suffered from during the campaign, including "tennis elbow" (from constantly shaking hands), and about the debate on TVP, when he faced his rival presidential candidates for four hours without the opportunity to use the toilet or take any breaks.

He also spoke about running at rallies, his scooter, the lies of the mainstream media, and his political opponents. He said of the winner of the race to the Presidential Palace that he has so far been fulfilling the promises he made when signing the "Toruń Declaration." "May it continue," he added.
